the pinewoods, tasty breakfast and excellent morning coffee were a great in- troduction into the ride to the idyllic village of Loznati at the island of Cres. The place is surrounded by olive trees is well-known for its restaurant Bukaleta, which now for more than 20 years offers the best of Istrian cuisine to the local and for- eign guests. After lunch, we took the ferry back to the island of Krk, to the place named Porat, which lays at southwest part of the Malinska bay and checked in a small family hotel, Villa Margaret, very close to the seashore. We had dinner in the restaurant in the Poljice village in the very heart of the Island. The restaurant called Three Maroons is at the main square with an old church, and is obviously under the chestnut trees! We have never heard anything but the best about this restaurant. On our last day, after breakfast we had the UTLA oil tasting (it has received number of awards in the extra virgin olive oil category) first and then made our back to the mainland across the Krk Bridge. Then we drove past Rijeka to Livade a small place close to the old town of Motovun, the home place of Zigante brand. The epicentre of Istrian truffles, restaurant Zigante was a perfect lunch stop and the last point of our four-day trip to Kvarner region.
